One of my goals for this year is to publish my first poetry collection, Waking Wildflowers. This collection has been in the works for a few years. Slowly building and growing through my journey of healing and becoming.
My plan is to release it in June 21st, the Midsummer solistice.
Here’s the blurb in progress:
Waking Wildflowers explores the journey of healing, from the discomfort of shedding your old skin to learning to be gentle with oneself.
Rooted in nature, hope, and desparation, Waking Wildflowers takes the reader through the tremulous seasons of waking up to wholeheartedness.
What I’ve been working on:
Transcribing poems from my journals to a draft doc.
Playing with the flow and themes of the order of poems.
Working on basic book formatting.
Reading a lot of poetry to see where this collection might fit.
Buying ISBNs
Making cover mock-ups. (scroll down for a sneak peek!)
What’s up next:
Getting the pre-order link live
Getting to know Draft2Digital and Atticus (book formatting software)
Finishing poem edits.
Decide if I want an ARC team or not.
